What happens in a two-week AI readiness assessment
· 4 min read · Hidden Node
Our readiness assessment is free, takes about two weeks and ends with one clear document. Here is what actually happens, so you know what to expect and who needs to be involved.
Week one: listen and map
We start with a short kickoff to agree goals and the teams in scope. Then we hold a small number of interviews, typically with:
- a business owner who feels the pain (operations, finance, customer service),
- someone who does the work every day,
- someone from IT or data who knows where information lives,
- and, where relevant, risk or compliance.
From these we map the workflows in scope: what comes in, what decisions are made, which systems are touched and where time is lost.
Week two: test and prioritise
We look at real examples (anonymised where needed) to check whether the data is usable as it is today. For each candidate use case we estimate effort, cost, risk and the metric it should move. We also check practical blockers: access to systems, security requirements, and any rules about where data can be processed.
What you receive
- A current-state map of data, processes and people for the areas in scope.
- The three use cases worth doing first, ranked, with rough cost and effort.
- Risks to manage: data quality, security, compliance and change for the team.
- A 90-day plan you can run with us or on your own.
What we need from you
A sponsor who can make decisions, around five to eight hours of interview time across your team, and access to a few sample documents or records. We are happy to sign an NDA before anything is shared.
There is no obligation to continue with us afterwards. The document is yours either way.
